Features & Advantages of Screenflex

Inside each sound-absorbing panel is a 1/2-inch honeycomb sandwich core (2). The honeycomb configuration creates multiple closed air-filled pockets which provide excellent sound insulation by trapping & absorbing sound waves as they travel through the air. Each panel is then covered with a fabric material (3) to complete the process. Structurally, our core is made by sandwiching the honeycomb material between two heavy corrugated boards. This method provides strength in tension, which is an excellent choice when flat or slightly curved surfaces are needed. Because we need our product to be somewhat rigid yet lightweight, using the honeycomb acoustic panels is the perfect material choice. A black powder-coated steel frame (1) surrounds the entire panel to create a durable accordion-style room divider.

Screenflex portable tackable walls are non-abrasive and provide bulletin board functionality while maintaining a modern appearance.

Like a bulletin board, you can pin, staple, or tack items directly onto the Screenflex tackable wall surface. Their superior tackability is because of the room divider’s unique design and construction. Screenflex partitions are a 3/4-inch-thick panel made out of a closed-cell honeycomb core and overlayed with stitch-bonded polyester fabric. These fabric-wrapped tackable walls provide the superior acoustical performance you expect from Screenflex. 

Screenflex Room Dividers are equipped with our proprietary non-marking self-leveling casters.  Screenflex designers found that similar to shock absorbers on a car, self-leveling casters absorb any bumps, obstacles, and roughness of the flooring surface. This technology provides you with a safe and stable divider that remains in contact with your floor during setup, in use, and when stored. You can rest assured that if your floor has some dips and bumps, your divider will remain stable and straight.

Our industrial casters are capable of moving in a forward or backward direction as well as in a swiveling motion depending on your needs. The rubber casters manually adjust to roll over cords, debris, and uneven flooring found in most facilities.  When your Screenflex Room Divider must be immobile push down on the brake featured on each corner casters, locking both the caster wheel and swivel head. Our priority brake ensures that the swivel caster will not move when the pedal brake is locked.  You will be amazed at their performance!

One of the features we are most proud of at Screenflex is our room divider hinge.  We secure divider panels together every 4 inches with a strong, full-length aluminum continuous hinge.  Why is this important?  A full length piano hinge evenly distributes any weight to minimise stress on the panels and to maintain the alignment of the divider.  This solid construction provides you with a room divider that is stable and long-lasting.  Additionally, the piano style hinge creates a pivot action that moves smoothly and even.  The range of motion the hinges yield allow you to arrange the divider into multiple configurations with ease.

Position Control Hinges (PCH) are a standard feature on all Screenflex Room Dividers and is located at the apex of each hinge.  The constant torque position control hinges are a spring-loaded device that provides consistent resistance throughout the entire range of motion of the divider panels.  This resistance enables you to easily position the tackable panels fully opened, fully closed or anywhere in between.   When the divider is opened, the soft click of the PCHs means that each panel is secured into any desired angle until you move the divider again. A PCH makes setting up, moving and closing the divider smooth and effortless.

Our steel end frame design distributes the weight of the divider closer to the floor making Screenflex the ONLY patented “Stabilised Portable Room Divider” 

Tubular steel end frames are wide only at the bottom. This design creates a low center of gravity, which makes the temporary units more stable. We use steel for our end frames and framing because while it’s more expensive than aluminum, we know it makes for a safer, sturdier divider. This patented design also gives you greater ease of movement and a clear sight line when moving and repositioning your divider.

Screenflex portable room dividers are put into storage mode with a set of secure storage latches.  The storage latches are essential because they keep the panels compactly together when moving folding room dividers from place to place. This tight configuration offers the user a clear view around the panels when rolling the divider from room-to-room or into position.  With just a gentle pull, our latch lock releases the room divider panels from the locked position. Just walk the divider open into the desired configuration.
